In a Stunning Triumph Wisconsin Voters Repudiate the Left

After being held hostage and assailed by the lefts biggest heavy hitters for months, Wisconsin voters had the opportunity to strike back.....and strike back they did.

The left had campaigned, loudly and expensively for the opportunity to recall 6 Republican State Senators. Stump speeches by such imported leftist luminaries like Al Sharpton and Michael Moore with class warfare rhetoric, added to the din.

Democrats and organized labor calculated if they replaced these 6 senators with liberal legislators, they would be able to overturn all of the public employee collective bargaining reforms & budget reforms that ushered in the new year.

With an unprecedented amount of money poured into relatively small districts, some estimate as much as 40 million dollars and the overwhelming amount of personnel bussed in from all over the country, many thought it was a foregone conclusion that the left would win. Collective wisdom said no one could withstand this sort of massive firepower concentrated on them. Many predicted a landslide win by the left.

But Wisconsin voters are a unique lot, a bit stubborn and independent. They were not going to be bullied by outsiders using aggressive tactics, nor were they going to be bamboozled by slick expensive ads assaulting them 24/7 on every level of media. The lefts mind stretching argument that their privileges, had somehow turned into some sort of sacred rights, fell flat with Wisconsin voters, who themselves have had to pare back in this tough economy.

After the ballot gun smoke cleared, the Republicans still remained in power and the ongoing reforms remain in place. The left was not able to gain control by conventional legislative means through the ballot process. Democrats still face the specter of 2 of their Senators facing recall elections in the coming week...Stay tuned.

Ironically, the headlines today show that the Wisconsin economy, under their new Republican leadership has begun to roar back and is gaining more private sector jobs than any state. Irony of ironies: Wisconsin's AAA credit rating, lost under the previous Democrat stewardship, has been restored under the leadership of the new crew.

Sorry Joan, I see some corps have hurt you along your journey, but don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch. Remember: Corporations are people too. Many have codes of ethics w/mission statements that put purpose above profit. My friend has a corp that is used to manufacture the cure for malaria at affordable prices so that millions of people may live. The evil motives you use to ascribe corps are really pointed at the evil people running them. Do you think GE is evil? The CEO is obamas best buddy. Go figure.
Sorry, Mon, I do think a lot of corporations are the enemy because they don't care about the little people. It's all about money with them. If the gov. tries to help people get medical insurance, then the medical insurance companies stop paying for things that they used to pay for - like colonoscopies. Or they jack up the prices on something else. Big corporations just want their people to get rich. Insurance companies are monopolies. You have to have car insurance, but if you have an accident, they cancel your policy. It happened to my mother. You might be right about them creating jobs, but only when it suits them.
Yes Joan, both sides. Just didn't want you to fall 4 the sound bytes being spewed out that "evil corporations" are the enemy of america. On the contrary, they, for the most part are the providers of good jobs for most Americans and are the catalyst for the economy that makes this country work. When you punish and demonize "corporations" you punish and demean America. Because contrary to leftist belief, the govt. is not the producer of jobs and wealth in our society...The private sector is.
Thanks for the info, Mon. So both sides send money to help elect their candidates.
Joan: Did you know unions are corporations? So are the many community organizing groups with noble sounding names that descended on wisconsin to try to throw the elections.
corporations. I knew it didn't look right.
The Republican woman (don't remember her name) who is very close to the governor - won. 8 million dollars was pumped into her coffers by corperation money. If it's legal for corperations to give, it's legal for unions to give.
Really? I see 40 million dollars focused in on a few local elections, really almost town sized elections, by a small corrupt minority to try to force their will upon the rest of the citizens of the state. Think about. The whole will and money of obama and his labor unions focused like a lazer on very small districts...and they lost
It is true that the Republicans gave the Democrats a beating in November. I think that people were scared and thought the Tea Party candidates and the Republicans would do a better job. Once those new senators and representatives got into power, however, I think they thought they could do what they wanted and the people would cheer them on. Then what I think really happened is that the newcomers, both in the legislature and in the Governor's mansions got too puffed up and went too far. I believe there are many who regret their 2010 votes and are having a case of buyer's remorse. Just my opinion.
If it was such a workers/peoples paradise under the left in wisconsin, why was there a landslide purging of the left in last years elections. Wisconsin voters even vomited out there long time lefty senator russ feingold. No what has happened lately is that obama and the unions have funneled shocking amts. of money and corruption into basically local races in wisconsin...and they still haven't been able to win. Wisconsin is Gettysburg and if the normal citizens of this country go along with compromise w/the left it will be a murder suicide pact for the country, it already is actually we are so broke.
I stayed tuned. Both Democrats retained their seats. Oh yuh, the unemployment rate in Wisconsin for July went up and job creations went down. Just thought you'ld like to know.
This is a preview of the 2012 election.
Sean , surely you don't consider yourself balanced?
Ed you are in good company with us.
Now why on earth would I want to leave I.C. Seanmelbourne when I have such great fans as you and ratslayer to sing me praises and keep me company.
