New England Regional Irish Dancing Championships Team Results

The Harney Academy of Irish Dance in Massachusetts swept the majority of the team competitions at the New England Regional Irish Dancing Championships held November 18-20 in Providence, Rhode Island.  Harney's ceili dancers, renowned for teachers Liam and Sally Harney's ceili choreography and execution, won nearly half of the twenty-seven team events, including all four age groups of Girls Ceili.  Gilleoghan Irish Dance from Connecticut clinched three titles: Girls 4-Hand under 15B and Mixed 4-Hand under 12 and under 15.  Teams from the Goulding School, O'Shea-Chaplin School, Smith-Houlihan, and Pender Keady also had their turn atop the podium.  Choreography competitions were won by Murray School, Heavey-Quinn Academy and Pender-Keady Academy, in age group order.  Adult dancers from Fagan and the Rhode Island Ceilidhe Club each took home two championships as well.

Congratulations to the hundreds of dancers who participated in the traditional team competitions and special kudos to those who placed!
