The Shelley Wasatch Winter Feis is the annual Irish dancing competition hosted by the Shelley School of Irish Dance. This year's event was held on February 4, 2012 at the Kearns High School in Kearns, Utah. Adjudicators from Ireland and the United States oversaw events for first-time competitors through adults.

New competitive Irish dancers, called First Feisers, from the Shelley School, Genevieve Shelley (under 6) and Savannah Gedris (under 7), each won both the reel and light jig competitions. Julia Steed, also from Shelley, won the First Feis single jig for the under 7 age group.
Heading to Surrey, British Columbia this weekend for the Van-Eire Traditional Dance Association Feis or West Lake Village, Calif. for Feis Rince Conejo Valley? How about New Jersey for the Broesler School Feis or Mexico City for the Mexico City Feis? Or maybe even New York for the Inishfree Feis?
No matter your competitive destination this weekend, we want to share four tunes you should add to your own playlist before lacing up and taking the stage, inspired by past Oscar-nominated tunes. Best of luck to all competitors. And be sure to come back here and share your results!
Heading to Georgia this weekend for Feis Na Tara or California for Feis San Francisco? How about Ontario for the Mary Woodgate Feis or Missouri for the St. Louis Irish Arts Feis and No matter your competitive destination this weekend, we want to share four tunes you should add to your own playlist before lacing up and taking the stage, inspired by this past week’s Grammy Awards. Best of luck to all competitors. And be sure to come back here and share your results!
And people will be on the edge of their seats watching you dance after getting pumped up by this jam.

The second O'Rourke School Feis was held Saturday February 4th at State University of New York's Purchase Campus. Competitive Irish dancers, teachers and families from the tri-state area and perimeter traveled to Westchester County to meet up with friends and for many, to test out 2012 Irish dance steps on a new stage. Champion-level dancers showed up in droves looking for constructive criticism by adjudicators before heading to Dublin next week for the All Ireland Irish Dancing Championships.
Top Three results for girls and ladies in Open Championships are shown here with our thanks to Lu-Ann O'Rourke-Boyd, TCRG and Feis411. Full results will be available on FeisWeb soon.

There may be nothing so exciting than watching a brand new regional Irish dancing champion realize that he or she is the last one standing during awards. Those emotional moments before the dancer receives the championship sash and climbs to the coveted top spot on the podium are priceless! Captured by professional event photographers and hundreds of amateurs clicking away, the images serve to remind us of the joy that comes with hard work and the love of Irish dance.
