Below are some pictures from a recent evening in Pearl River,
New York with
Willie Kelly,
Rose Conway Flanagan,
Patty Furlong and
Galway transplant
John Creaven playing music for some of the talented children from one of the largest Irish-American communities in the
United States. The night of dancing and music is a regular event at the
Hibernian Hall. Scholar
Mary Holt Moore often teaches kids Irish language at the gathering. Many of the musicians' students joined the session on a variety of instruments such as fiddles, whistles and accordions. Proud parents watched-on as the next generation had some fun in the
old Irish traditions long kept strong in New York.
