Tea Party overreach? The poster girl of the Tea Party right failed to win election last night in the game changer that wasn't quite.
"It gave me no pleasure to say that she was unlikely to win," said former GOP strategist Karl Rove following O'Donnell's loss to Democrat Chris Coons. “But this again provides a lesson. This is a candidate who was right on the issues but who had mishandled a series of questions brought up by the press.”
O'Donnell's comments about witchcraft ultimately defined her, Rove believes, and now her loss (and Sharon Angle's) show the limitations of the Tea Party's reach and its glaring lack of political experience.
One person who will rue O'Donnell's fall is Sarah Palin. Although Palin never campaigned for Christine O’Donnell, she did endorse her in the GOP primary. Tonight she'll have to answer some awkward questions about that rather hasty decision.
Giving away a senate seat will be hard to explain to Palin's GOP donors.

The good news for the Tea Party is they help the GOP win seats in Congress. The bad news for the Tea Party and the GOP is they won seats in Congress and they have actual power. Suddenly they are "Responsible" for something other than what comes out of their mouths. It's going to be an interesting 2 years for the USA. I hope something works out.

Wait till the voters open the package and see what they bought. It's not salvation, it's just standard Republican stuff. "Lower taxes for the rich, and everybody will benefit . . . " yada yada. It's what they've said for years, with good results for themselves but not for the rest of us.
The Republicans haven't any new ideas. They managed to repackage their usual line of talk to make it sound like they were "taking America back" and "restoring the Constitution." It's all nonsense, and a year from now people will be wondering why anybody fell for it. This a familiar theme for Republicans. Nixon won in a landslide in 1972, but a year later nobody would admit voting for him. By 1974 he didn't have a single friend left.

The Tea Party is trying to save America. Judging from Irelands new status of being one of the EU's PIGS.
Ireland could use someone like O'Donnell. By the way, that fine Irish lad Toomey won, and I'd like to add that I had the honor of voting for him.

Sounded very much like "Siek Heil" that the crowd were chanting when Rep Boehner took to the podium.
Now my Irish immigrant friends and all those not of blue eyes and blond hair it is time to go before you are all looking out from behind barbed wire fences at the behest of the 85% tea party brigade. If you get caught up in this unfortunate situation do not get hood winked when they tell you you need to go into the shower for de lousing.Please God "Bless America" at this time.

cahir...you enjoy beating up on O'Donnell but you make no mention of the election as a whole. I wonder why?!?! Tea Party candidates won 87.5% of the house races they were in. Beating more than a few incumbents, with over 100 victories. They also won 3 out of 5 senate seats, not to mention governor races. Pretty good start for a 22 month old Tea Party & Palin. You wish this reflected badly on Palin but as usual, your wrong again. Palin has now not only put fear in the black hearts of the dems. She has the Repubs scared as hell to boot. The dems found out the hard way, the aren't kings & queens but servants of the people. But will they listen? I think not, leading to a larger beating in 2012.

THANK THE LORD she didn't get it, I know a lot of Americans are thinking irrationally at the moment (hence the GOP overload) but she would be DANGEROUS in power
