National Organization For Marriage Sought To Divide Blacks, Gays, Latinos

According to court documents, which were posted to the internet yesterday, NOM worked strategically to drive a wedge between the black and gay community in regard to same sex marriage.
"The strategic goal of this project is to drive a wedge between gays and blacks," the released document revealed, shockingly.
'We aim to find, equip, energize and connect African American spokespeople for marriage; to develop a media campaign around their objections to gay marriage as a civil right; and to provoke the gay marriage base into responding by denouncing these spokesmen and women as bigots. No politician wants to take up and push an issue that splits the base of the party.'
Note how they plan to bait the gay community into a divide and conquer battle with the black community. Since both are key Democratic constituencies there are multiple benefits for keeping them at each others throats, NOM suggests. For an organization that prides itself on its christian principals you'll be hard pressed to find any compassion or charity in those starkly political and racial objectives.
NOM did not confine their hateful bait and switch strategy to the black and gay community however, they also contrived to convince Latino voters that a deep anti-gay animus would be an important 'symbol of resistance to inappropriate assimilation.'

In other words, they wanted to portray homosexuality as an icky life choice indulged in by white people, a choice completely at variance with the traditions and aspirations of Latino's. (Christian evangelicals have had a great deal of success with this white man's perversion strategy in Africa in recent years).
Personally I haven't seen something so disgusting, so immoral, so anti-American and plain hateful in years.
Since NOM was stupid enough to put their racially divisive objectives into writing they deserved to be hooted at for the bigots they have shown themselves to be.
And how is this protecting families or marriages exactly? Wouldn't it be more truthful to say NOM's real objective is to divide Democratic constituencies in the most cynical way possible? Pitting American's against Americans, inciting them with divisive rhetoric, then claiming it doesn't 'hate' anyone as it watches the bonfire it set catch?
NOM wants to further its antigay agenda by playing to the worst in all of us. Thank God they're losing by the day.
Meanwhile NOM bills itself as a grassroots organization however upon it is understood it is dependent upon large contributions from a small pool of big-money, mostly anonymous donors. Since its inception it has fought tooth and nail to avoid disclosing the names of donors specifically.
Political leaders, including Republicans, have called for a federal investigation into their donors and activities, and perhaps now they'll have sufficient impetus - and outrage - to begin the job.

The reality here is that no one's talking about 'changing' what marriage is or 'should' be. If you don't like gay marriage don't have one.

The reality here is that gay marriage proponents know that it just ain't natural so they try to make any opposed the bad guy . It's not going to work,. The ovewhelming majority of sane people know what marriage should be and all the media propaganda in the world is not going to change that {hopefully}A few years ago homosexuality was officially recognized by the physciatric professionals as a serious mental disorder Just because they changed their minds after PC and media pressure doesn't make it any leess sickening.

The goals of NOM are disgusting and despicable. This is just what is NOT needed - more hatred, bigotry, prejudice, and division in the U.S. There's nothing Christian about that. NOM is a "hate" group that needs to be booted out of existence. In spite of losing a lot of members, the Episcopal Church and the ELCA (Lutheran) continue to be steadfast in their stance to be inclusive - and they keep their noses out of the birth control arena, except for abortion which they do not endorse.

I'm amazed at how blatant NOM's tactics are. According to their own documents, they harass and intimidate people who support the cause of marriage equality. Their main tactic is fear mongering. They try to convince Christians that LGBT rights are a conspiracy against them: "Gay marriage is the tip of the spear, the weapon that will be and is being used to marginalize and repress Christianity and the Church. What does the gay marriage idea mean once government adopts it? It means faith communities that promote traditional families should be treated in law and culture like racists. It means that the authority of parents to transmit moral values to children will be eroded." What hypocrisy, to complain of being treated "like racists" when they themselves pit races against each other as political strategy! NOM's fear mongering polarizes Christians just as it polarizes individuals of different races. Some Christians believe in a Gospel that includes all as equals; others warp the Gospel message to exclude gays and non-traditional women. The body of Christ thus divides against itself, and we know what Matt. 12:25 says about division. When one part of the body undoes the work of the other part, the body destroys itself.

hollabackgurl the catholic church also is trying to turn back the clock to the 1920s, when birth control devices were illegal in most of the USA...........Just another part of their "sexuality" beliefs, that created the horrible scandal re children.

NOM id s hstr gtoup per the southern poverty law center. NOt for religious beliefs, but for demonizing and telling lies about gay people.............Maggie Gallagher of NOM btw supports "conventional marriage" by having not one , but 2 illegitimate children, and her husband has never been seen................NOM is just another piece of the catholic church hate of equality in civil marriage for all loving couples............And intended to be a distraction as well re the endless hidden molestation of children by the unmarried priests......... Which included the hierarchy constantly moving known vile priests to new locations where their proclivities were not known.......... As a friend of mine said - Belonging / contributing to the catholic church is t he super-highway to purgatory or hell. Join almost all of our extended family - 43 people - who have left the church. Either for the Episcopals who do gay marriage or holy union ceremonies, or the Evangelical Lutherans who allow gay ministers in relationships, and are working on defining a gay "marriage" relgious ceremony........OUr family calls for at least full civil marriage for all loving couples. Its as simple as that.

The NOM documents are eye-openers. They reveal how closely this anti-gay group has coordinated with church leaders, particularly evangelicals and Catholics, to oppose both LGBT rights and the HHS contraceptive rule, all by whipping up fears about government 'coercing' faithful Christians. It looks like their definition of "coerced" is having to put with anything they don't like that other people do. One NOM budget item allocated $50,000 for its Catholic Clergy Project of 10 seminars, which "aims to use NOM's close relationships with Catholic bishops to equip, energize and moralize Catholic priests on the marriage issue." That's cheap, $10k less than NOM planned to spend on a scout to find "children of same-sex couples . . . willing to speak on camera ($60k plus benefits)." I wonder what "benefits" they have in mind to bribe children to badmouth their gay parents! Christians who are tempted to sit on the sidelines really need to get involved in these issues because NOM is actively co-opting the name "Christian" for salacious and manipulative opposition to a basic human right.

Pitting the victims of bigotry against each other is reprehensible. This organization hasn't an ounce of Christianity in them - they're just useful shills for the GOP.
