I'm honestly starting to wonder if Mitt Romney will concede the election before election night. Is he finally seeing what the nation sees? The negatives about him, as they in Washington, are so pronounced.
Yesterday, facing relentless criticism from the Obama camp about his offshore investments, Romney spluttered that they are managed by a blind trust and he has no knowledge of their whereabouts.
Really? If you owned untold millions in investments abroad wouldn't you want to know where they were and how they were performing? Wouldn't you want to have their telephone number at least so you could cal them up if you were feeling anxious?
Imagine being so mind numbingly rich that you don't even have to trouble yourself worrying with those details. No wonder Romney's own conservative chums winced so much when he was photographed jet-sking at his private summer mansion last week.
'I don’t manage them,' Romney told Radio Iowa's O. Kay Henderson, referring to his foreign investments. 'I don’t even know where they are. That trustee follows all U.S. laws. All the taxes are paid, as appropriate. All of them have been reported to the government. There’s nothing hidden there.'
Move along.
Except the portrait that's emerging of Romney is of a human weather vane who will turn with every political wind that blows. Another portrait is of a man so rich and so cossetted that he need never concern himself about where his untold millions are stuffed. Imagine being so rich you don't need wonder where the money that makes you rich actually is? This is the man who feels the pain of America's middle class?
Voters are unenthusiastic about him polls say, and he looks decidedly unenthusiastic himself. Even Republican House Speaker John Boehner said recently that voters 'probably aren’t going to fall in love' with him, adding that only 'some friends, relatives and Mormons' have his back.
Ouch.
I'm not even sure at this point why Mitt Romney wants to be president. I mean, I suppose for the access to all that power, that must be attractive to him, but when I look a him I still strongly get the feeling his heart just isn't in it.
Looking at him, I get the inescapable feeling that his best days are probably all behind him. Like a lot of men from his generation I believe he was probably happiest in the days when he could lead a bunch of bullying frat boys into the unpopular gay kids room and hold him down and humiliate him for life.
In those days you could do things like that safe in the knowledge that kind of treatment would never happen to you. In those days he was a king and he acted like one. I bet he misses those days.
Nowadays I get the feeling that what he really wants, at this stage in his life, is a jet ski vacation and some nice comfy slippers. He has that hangdog look that makes me think he's been put up to this presidential run against his will, he has that look even more than George W. Bush did.
That's why conservative outlets went nuts when those photographs of Romney on his jet ski looking like he was actually enjoying himself for once hit the web.
They told the truth about him, for once. The truth is he's happiest goofing off with his family. I wonder if he knows it himself? I really wonder if he'll throw in the towel before the election even starts?

Epraim your ilk survives on the laziness of your followers. Lying doesn't always mean telling untruths but also by omitting parts of the story to change its meaning. The re reporting of this ten year old story like it is new is one omission, the omission of the story having no merit is another. You may want to question the moral backing of your candidate that requires such fabrication or have no conscience and collect your paycheck.

Romney may not have just been one of the outsourcing pioneers, he may have been THE first. Mother Jones - the day before yesterday - Romney may have been the first outsourcer to China in 1998 when he was definitely there. He financed a Chinese company that made appliances for the American companies who let their American workers go.

He can't have it both ways. In sworn testimony at his residency hearing, he claimed he was a Mass. resident because he was part time at Bain, returned for Board Meeting, and pulled a $100,000 salary. He had filed his taxes in Utah and they made him pay the difference to Mass. since he was claiming residency there. It was only later that he decided it was more expedient to not have worked there during the outsourcing and claimed not to have worked for Bain in any way. Either he lied and perjured himself, lied on SEC paperwork, lied on 2007 and 2011 disclosure forms and/or lied to the American voters. He can't have this one both ways, just because he has a boatload of money. Either he worked for Bain after 1999 or he didn't. Since he is on official record with both conflicting stories, he lied in one of them. NO BIG SURPRISE - ITS WHAT HE DOES!

Seano I have more respect for you than to accuse you of being an ABBA fan, Dylan is predictable though, Always respected Dylans longevity and resume of hits. research the sec/Bain and you will find the press went through this ten years ago, that is if you are honest in researching the information.

Briano I never said I was an ABBA fan i stated Money{r} was in a fit of mirth. I'm a Dylan man myself.AS for Gallagher I mistakenly thought you were referring to the British group Oasis (Noel Gallagher). If Money[r] left Bain in 1999 why did he sign off on the accounts in 2000, 2001,2002.If he was not a director in those years he committed security fraud and by his own admission(when campaigning) he claimed he took leave of absence whilst organizing the Olympic games. He flip flopped on abortion and healthcare. He just cannot be trusted.

Exerpt from Washigton post--The Pinocchio Test
The Obama campaign is blowing smoke here.We realize that Bauer gets to the word “criminal” by mentioning “investigation,” but that distinction might be lost on most listeners.
Meanwhile, the weight of evidence suggests that Romney did in fact end active management of Bain in 1999. He stated that in a federal disclosure form he signed, under threat of criminal penalties. He said he was a “former employee” in a state disclosure form. A state commission concluded 10 years ago that he did, indeed, leave Bain in 1999. Investors in Bain funds were told he was not part of the management team.

@BrianO - Are you sure about the photoshopping? I think his head is THAT BIG! Second place goes to John Denver and third to Linda Ronstadt. What can I say, the seventies were GREAT!

EphraimKibbey writes, "You would think that the GOP would have caught on to the fact that it is really hard to get away with a lie in the computer age but I guess it is hard to give up the habit." It's impossible to give up the habit if he is a compulsive liar, and I suspect he is. He has a different version of facts for each audience-- the SEC, the voters, the NAACP, etc. He does not seem to realize when he's been "caught" in a lie and just smiles that dopey smile when a reporter or interviewer tries to pin down what he said. He seems unconcerned about truth or accuracy, focused on manipulation-- symptoms of a compulsive disorder. I find the thought of having a compulsive liar in the Oval office dealing with foreign heads of state and directing the military a bit scary. Does anyone know any credentialed psychologists who'd take a look at some video of Romney's fanciful stories and attempt a diagnosis? I'm serious about this; we need a diagnosis of this guy!

I wonder what other interesting stuff is in Romney's tax returns and what other felony indictments may result from their investigation. "That's how they got Al Capone, you know!"
