So spare a thought for hard working Republican House Speaker John Boehner, who'll be playing a round of strenuous golf at Newport Beach in California today in the company of some of the richest people in America.
As Wall Street is under siege from a growing international protest that's condemning corporate influence on our elections, apparently tone deaf Boehner is cozying up the richest 1% they blame for our woes.
And, just to make matters even more galling, all the while Boehner's ignoring the growing demand to hold a vote on the American Jobs Act.
I suppose we shouldn't be surprised by his lack of urgency because in the midst of the most biting recession in living memory it's clear the GOP has no jobs plan; it has a re-election plan, that is all.

That's why Boehner can't see anything Marie Antionetteish about a round of golf in an exclusive club in sunny California at a time when so many Americans are struggling just to keep a roof over their heads.
It's why the GOP let the clock run out on the deficit negotiations, leading to a historic downgrading of the nations credit rating: in their desire to run out the clock on Obama, they have forgotten what the recession is doing to Main Street.
That's why Boehner can work on his tan as more and more Americans despair of ever finding work. Boener's golfing with the 1% who will bankroll his party, rather than face the 99% who pay his wages.
It demonstrates who has the real pull with him because under his guidance, the GOP won't even allow a vote on the President's plan in the House.
It's enough to bring a tear to your eye.

That's a blatant, thoroughgoing lie maryo137, and easily disproved with a Google search. In America the mega rich pay lower tax rates than their secretaries. The mega-rich pay income taxes at a rate of 15 percent on most of their earnings but pay practically nothing in payroll taxes. It’s a different story for the middle class: typically, they fall into the 15 percent and 25 percent income tax brackets, and then are hit with heavy payroll taxes to boot.

Most of the countrys taxes are paid by that 1%- Nothing said about the percentage who pay no taxes; Another article paid for by George Soros.

The Republicans fronting for all of those who “got theirs” will stymie any bill or legislation that would focus on true job creation. The bills that the many racist commenters here have referred to are rancid with provisions designed to minimizing long term job growth. Republicans and their rich or privileged backers have campaigned for smaller government, which truly translate to, less protections for American workers, the doing away with on the job safety, Workers Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, more violations of Wage & Hour Laws, Dismantling of the Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, OSHA, Americans with Disability Administration, also Environmentally clean and safe factories and work places, pretty much a tearing down of all the protections for the American Worker. This is what the Republicans and their wealthy American backers mean by smaller government. All this and the fact that they can’t deal with a black president. Slan

Americans know John Boehner is an "elected" Public Servant, but does he? And looking at his tan, Mother Nature may have already told the Fate Clotho to shorten his cloth. One only has to listen to John B talk to know he's either smoked a pack or two too many, or else his lungs are paying the price for his too often, too many days on the golf course worshiping the sun and the good life. Men who think they have dominion over the land, and can get away with what ever they wish, need to learn it is Mother Nature who has dominion over all!
And America is not in a Recession! America is in a deep Depression!!!!! Just ask any of the 19% out of American workers out of work! All of those people protesting on Wall Street are protesting because of the greed and corruption at the top, those who used their underlings to push credit on those who could least afford to pay it back!
I say: "President Obama take over the Federal Reserve Bank!" That is really where all of the rich keep their money, their very safe reserves, thanks to the American TAX payers! The President should then use the money to build American factories and put Americans back to work! Put Americans back to work, and send all of those greedy Globalists, the filthy rich who won't share -and all of those amoral corporate zsars, who are still stealing America's Birthright and future away from Americans, and banish them to their off shore islands, farms, castles, penthouses, and mansions, telling them never to set foot on American's soil again!

I wish Obama would stop running around the country making speeches. I will not vote for him. Anybody would be a better president than him.

I don't really care much about most politicians but felt the need to note the Senate with a Democrat Majority refused to consider the bill also. Minor research would also point out that 12 House Bills aimed at helping create jobs (whether they would or not I don't know but that is what they are said to do) haven't been allowed for consideration in the Senate as well. Sadly, it's possible they are short enough to be readable so they are afraid to consider them? If they can read them, they can be accountable for voting for or against them.
