New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who has campaigned as a fiscally responsible conservative Republican, is in the headlines this morning for taking a state helicopter to his son's baseball game at an upscale prep school.
Christie, who had a private meeting at the governors mansion on Monday night with Iowa donors trying to persuade him to run for president, arrived at Delbarton prep around 4pm on Tuesday where he was driven from the helicopter about 100 yards to the stands in a black limo with tinted windows.
The governor had no public events on his schedule, so it is unclear why he chose to fly to the game in the $12.5 million dollar helicopter.
Critics have blasted the governor for the expense to the state's taxpayers and have noted he was sending his own son to an expensive private school whilst underfunding the state's public schools.

Hey conorsmom you should have asked rpmschevy is where he found the facts for his accusations of Pelosi misdeeds during her tenure as Speaker of the House. I would like to know his/her sources.

Hey rpmschevy- We are not talking about Pelosi. Why not read the article. Every time a "conservative, fiscally responsible" republican does something repugnant, you don't need to DEFEND them by playing tit-for-tat! We are all aware of the wrong doing of ALL elected officials in the country.. Focus on the fact that Christy is a joke. A blow hard. A bully. Basically a Joke... If the people of Iowa think he is SO WONDERFUL, maybe he should move there!!

Christie's mantra!! "Do as I say not as I do".By the looks of him he should've ridden his son's bicycle to the game.Another right wing hypocrite taking money from the middle class to augment his highbrow life style.

Another one who talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk.
Fiscal responsibility is for everyone but him. State cut backs and he uses the copter for personal use....a copter for police functions and transportation of trauma patients. Good going Christie. And what, you couldn't walk the 100 or so feet to the game field...had to take a car.

Really jmchrystal?! Are you kidding me! As a NJ taxpayer and parent of a school age child, I can tell you that we Jersey voters are fed up with our PUBLIC school cut backs. Christy is a loud mouth school yard bully who expects the citizens to do as HE says and not as he does. This was a gross miss use of state funds and he should have to repay the money out of his VERY LARGE bank account...

Christie had no public schedule on the day he took the helicopter and limo. He had time to take New Jersey transit, frakly.

And the limo cost a couple of thousands of dollars an hour.

Christie is a radical blowhard, but as a Governor and a father, he should be able to use state transportation in order to fill the obligations of both roles. Now, maybe using a copter is a little-over-the-top, but maybe with time restraints and distance to be covered, it was the only way to make it work.

Pelosi did not take her family (and apparently her relatives who aren't family) to Europe on US tax dollars. Christie DID however charter a $12.5 million helicopter and limo to attend his sons ballgame at a fancy prep school.
