God abandons the GOP Presidential Race

Remember how the main Republican candidates all rushed to confirm to the press that God has inspired them to run in 2012?

To hear them tell it, Almighty God had taken time out of His busy schedule to make personal visits to their upscale homes to endorse them in person.

I'm talking about you Rick Santorum, Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry.

'I want you to be president of the United States,' God apparently told each of them, underlining the point that the maker of the universe supports the Republican agenda, whilst at the same time not letting on He was actually playing the field.

Well all that divine inspiration has come to naught, hasn't it? That's what He gets for His inability to pick one.

Not one of the candidates He spoke to succeeded. It's almost as if He might never have existed.

Whatever else we know about Mitt Romney, we know that he hasn't heard from God who His preferred candidate is. The truth is Romney hasn't heard from anyone that he's their preferred candidate.

So I don't think much of Romney's chances or of God's batting average. Maybe they'll want to skip H
is endorsement in 2016.

Lighten up Republican evangelicals. Obviously God's a joker. Look at how He stuck all those dinosaur bones in the 6 thousand year old rocks just to confuse us about that devil inspiried theory of evolution.

to cetic queen usa, a fair chance you ask for the current president. let's see what he has done in 3 years, gas $4 a gallon, unemployment 8-9%, racial tensions elevated, supreme court being berated, constitution being ignored. not to mention assassination of American born terrorist, war in Afganistan continues, as well as Iraq, and prison in Cuba still there.

When asked about the likelihood of the Tea Party fielding a candidate, God refused to be drawn on this. In fact God remained resolutely s-i-l-e-n-t. lol

God was never part of this cabal, so how could he have abandoned anything? He let them self-destruct in their holier-than-thou attitudes and non-stop hypocrisy. I say good on him. And anyone who says that Republicans believe in god is either ignoring reality or pimping for the devil, if not both. The hatred and bile being spewed by the GOP is insulting to the very idea of Christianity.

MotherIrish so that makes them credible, shame on you. I believe in God and I have lots of friends who don't but that doesn't make me any better than them. That was grasping at straws. Hell George Bush was told that God told him he should start a war and bomb the hell out of Iraq. Now I don't know about your God but mine would not have told anybody to do that.

I'd be leaving if the Pope was ever considered!! God has plans for us all and Romney for President is not one of them. Give our Present President a fair chance. SO MUCH COULD BR ACCOMPLISHED if our government and its politicians would WORK TOGETHER! wHAT A THOUGHT!

Cahir, Didn't you have anything to write about today? I don't know what God's plans are and neither do you or may'be you know something I don't. BTW can you give me an example of where and when these presiedtial candidates actually said the words God told me to run for President. I would like dates times and where they were when they actually said it.

religion has NO place IN politics....we're NOT electing the POPE to run the UNITED STATES of AMERICA, we're electing the PRESIDENT....we should NOT be making laws according to the bible.....and we DON'T our elected officials SHOVING their relgious beliefs down everyone's throats. alisa neely
