Fox News Channel have a credibility problem of their own making.
Night after night they give an unedited national forum to a tear-stained conspiracy theorist who critics contend is merely a delusional paranoiac.
On Monday Glenn Beck suggested that Friday's horrifying earthquake and tsunami in Japan was possibly a 'message from God.'
'We can't see the connections here,' he told his viewers. 'I'm not saying God is causing earthquakes - well I'm not not saying that either!
'What God does is God's business. But I'll tell you this - there's a message being sent. And that is, "Hey you know that stuff we're doing? Not really working out real well. Maybe we should stop doing some of it." I'm just saying.'
In a scatter shot list of possible reasons why the Japanese people having invoked God's ire, he even cited 'radical Islam.' As if Japan were a jihadist training camp. As if it were a nation full of radical Muslims.
Presumably by Friday he will have found a way to blame it on the First Lady, too: "I'm not saying it was her - well I'm not not saying that either!'
There's a message being sent to the American people by Beck, all right: absolutely no credibility should be given to either Beck or Fox while this man is given a forum for his bizarre 'views.'

Glenn Beck gives Christians a bad name. His off the wall comments are not based on the Christianity I ascribe to--which is not judging others, but loving them.

I also love how excited fundamentalist christians get for "earthquakes, tsunamis, droughts, famines, pestilences, diseases wars and rumors of wars..." It like they WANT to watch the world burn. Or rather they want to watch the people they hate burn. It's so obvious.

Do how does Cahir O'Doherty know that Glenn Beck is wrong? There will be many more even more powerful earthquakes, tsunamis, droughts, famines, pestilences, diseases wars and rumors of wars and we'll see how Cahir O'Doherty and the mockers will explain them. After all it was not just God's prophets who prophesied such things because Jesus Christ did likewise. The morality meltdown worldwide is having and will have far-reaching consequences.

Also...Did you notice you never see the likes of Beck or Hannity or O'Rielly doing live commentary at these times of major crisis? These blowhards have the big ego and nerve only when sitting safe and comfortable in their studio. They have no courage for real journalism.

That's not what he's saying. He's saying God killed the Japanese becuase He's angry about Muslims and Homo's and DADT and DOMA and basically becuase HE wants to wipe out all the same people and things Beck does. God votes GOP basically. That's how we know he's a lunatic.

Going by just the quote given us by Comrade Cahir, it seems that Mr. Beck is reminding us that we live in a depraved world. Bad things happen to us. Sometimes it might appear that God is sending a message with some disaster or another, but most of the time bad things just happen. Perhaps the message is that we need to seek Him and His blessing and to acknowledge Him as Lord. I understand this wouldn't make any sense to you Comrade, as communism allows for no god.

WOW--is this journalism or simply Tabloid Journalism? The author has obviously never watched Glenn Beck. If he had, he would realize that much of what Glenn says is true. Aside from that, one wonders why such an attack on Mr. Beck. For too long Christians have been the brunt of liberal mockery. As a Christian I find that beyond insulting. So everyone has a voice, and should, except for Christians? Mr. Beck has right to his own beliefs - or are you saying that he does not? Wonder what threathens liberals so much about a Christian. I believe in Jesus Christ and God's word and will never aplogize to anyone for that. If you don't understand that, then that's your problem.
