Lt. Dan Choi, an openly gay Iraq war veteran who has been an outspoken opponent of the U.S. military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, was back in uniform this weekend.

Although he was reported elsewhere as back on active duty the truth is that the decorated West Point graduate has not yet been offically discharged, so he was simply back in uniform for a FEW DAYS at periodic National Guard training.

But, either way, he was back in uniform. And the world hasn't ended. He joined his unit in Pennsylvania. As symbolism goes, I'll take it.

Choi's back in uniform one week after the nation's two top Defense officials, Defense Secretary Robert Gates and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, called for an end to the 16-year-old "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

Look at that picture. He's on his own bunk. He hasn't attacked anyone and he hasn't been attacked. As an Arabic language specialist the US is lucky to have him. Even the top brass admit it's time to do the right thing.

Great, so why do we have to know he is a Gay Soldier? I don't care. He is a soldier and apparently one to be proud of. I couldn't care less who he wants to sleep with.
