On last night's Tonight Show, the Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly discussed the Dan Choi discharge with host Jay Leno.
O'Reilly, who recently compared gay men to Al Qaeda, is an unlikely champion of LGBT equality - but last night he attacked President Obama for perpetuating the discrimination.
'President Obama has the power to stop this 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' business. Just sign an executive order. So I don't know why it's taking so long. It's not fair. We should stop this nonsense.'
The median age for O'Reilly's audience was recently determined to be 70 and upward. So if even America's retirees are starting to see that DADT is discrimination then it may well be struck down by the years end.

O'reilly NEVER compared gay men to Al Quaeda. That is utter horsesqueeze. I just LOVE how the left puts words in people's mouths.

You haven't watched the tape. O'Reilly discusses McDonald's gay-friendly 'Come As You Are' ad. Then he asks will McDonald's have an Al Qaeda ad? That's called ~comparing~.

Just watched the tape. You twisted what he said to make it seem like like he compared Al Queda to gays. Listen carefully again all you O'Reilly haters.

Google "Bill O'Reilly compares gays to Al Qaeda" to watch the video yourself. Quinnipiac University found that 66% called DADT "discrimination" and wanted it lifted. Troop opposition to DADT is well known in military life, and in fact only 10% of the troops have even bothered to reply to the latest poll of their views on DADT - it means the majority of soldiers just don't give a hoot about this.

What polls are you referring to, hollabackgurl? Can you be more specific?

A disturbed pinhead O'Reilly knows what sex is. Beck and Geraldo on the gravy train.

Please show me where Bill O'Reilly ever compared gay men to Al Quaeda . What is it with you lefty's when it comes to O'Reilly? Did you ever watch his show? Your one nasty little man.

What difference does it make whether any commentators served or not? Polls show that by far the majority of U.S. troops support their LGBT unit members and want this ban lifted.

So the average age of the male population watching "A shot at love with Tia Tequilla" ranged in age from 12 to 90....What has that got to do with anything? They say todays 70 is yesterdays 40 anyhow....Gayness in the military is nothing new, Winston Churchill commented on it back in 1911 when he was Lord of the Admiralty saying " The royal navy is good for only 3 things: rum, the lash and sodomy".

I try not to think about O'Reilly, Hannity, Beck and similar such fools. What they have to say is notably worthless.
IrishAndProud | Jul 28, 2010, 05:02 AM EDT
Of COURSE 'DADT' is discrimination. But not all discrimination is bad. Unfortunately the very word 'discrimination' has been negatively stigmatized -- as has the entire concept. And that's really unfortunate, having whole words and concepts put entirely off-limits because of politically correct jargon. But happily, more and more folks are questioning such conformist constraints.
