| The Grinch who saved Christmas |
Memo to the gays, he's totally on to you.
The pugnacious pundit, already steamed over what he called the death of 'traditional America' during the presidential election, now believes he has uncovered the root of the so-called war on Christmas.
It's gay people. Gay people are the antithesis of Christmas. You read that right.
Speaking on the O'Reilly Factor on Thursday night O'Reilly agreed with Imus in the Morning producer Bernard McGuirk when McGuirk blamed abortion and gay rights for the so-called 'war on Christmas.'
MCGUIRK: 'The war on Christmas is very, very real, and if you ask me, in addition to some grouchy misanthropic heathen atheists it has to do - at the root of it - with two things - abortion and the gay rights agenda, because Christianity is against those things. It's subtle but that's why it's so pronounced in recent years.'
O'REILLY: 'Hundred percent agree. I absolutely agree 100% that the diminishment of Christianity is the target and Christmas is the vehicle because the secularists know the opposition to their agenda (legalized drugs is in that as well) comes primarily from the Judeo-Christian traditionalist people.'
O'Reilly is correct, of course. What could possibly be gay about gaudy decorations and shiny baubles and glitter? What's queer about a golden fairy on top of a tree? Answer, according to O'Reilly, the people's champion with the Harvard degree, not a thing. Christmas is robustly heterosexual. And it's under attack.
It was news to me that Christmas had a sexual orientation at all, but I'm not a Fox News philosopher like Bill.
When reached for comment on Friday a spokesperson for the Gay Agenda told me: 'O'Reilly is 100 percent correct. We are coming for the 'Judeo-Christian traditionalist people.' We - the gays - want to dismantle their mangers and recycle their Christmas Trees; we want to throw out their turkeys and bin their creamed onions; we want to eradicate Santa and liquidate Xmas decorations. We want a joyless, colorless, tinsel-less world. Expect us.'
Seriously, though, it may be time for Bill and his fellow travelers at Fox News to take an early Christmas break themselves, because they sound more and more like the Grinches they're supposedly railing against. Tis' not the season to gay bash on television, Bill.
It's beyond stupid, it's fundamentalist and insupportable and defamatory to suggest that gay people are the enemy of Christianity and America and shopping. O'Reilly is making a big Christmas ass of himself. Instead he should practice sowing a little comfort and joy, and if he finds that he can't, he should just stay home and bah humbug in the comfort of his own mansion.

"StanJames", What are you on, man? Still reading rubbish on joke sites? Fox News is NOT banned in either Canada or Britain.
Why am I not surprised that a left wing liberal rubbish publication like Irish Central would leave your post up? If I were you, I'd ask them to take it down - Irish Central might be able to pay legal penalties, but you might just find them a little on the high side.

To put things in perspective, Fox news is banned in on the airwaves in canada and Gr. Britian for endless lies and misinformation..................
They are just another extremist hate group for whom Obama's election is a nightmare come true, and remind me of the evil RAdio nut case Limbaugh.
But its all about money - limbaugh makes 1os of millions per year wrecking the social contract between groups in America and O'Reilly does the same and is an embarrassment to all of us.

There was a similarly nonsensical priest in the 1930's who had a nationwide radio audience and incredible influence but he flew to close to the Nazis and Roosevelt finally cut his balls off in 1941. Forgotten his name but circa 1937-38 he was an avid, nay hysterical supporter of Franco. Any chance of Obama doing the same about O'Reilly? I'd be in favor of a War On O'Reilly if he were to declare one.

I see censorship is alive and well and living at Teach O'Dowdy. I posted two identical posts on different articles and Dowdy took them down after an hour. No obscenities in them, no profanities .............. that's most probably why he censored them. Lefty Looney Liberal types for Free Speech? My ass.

I don't agree that a lot of the Christmas activities should be taken away, but I don't see how homosexuality and abortion have anything to do with that. O'Reilly makes an ass of himself by just getting up in the morning and the other two Republican morons should find the rocks that they crawled out of and slink on back.

I fail to see the contribution that killing the unborn and homosexual activity are making to the relagation of Christmas. It appears as though political correctness plays a major role in diminishing the importance of the Holy Season, whose real function is celebrating the birthday of Jesus Chrict.
O'Reilly would approve the Christmas party Legionnaires held for veterans in an upstate nursing home yesterday. Yes, we call this annual event the CHRISTAMS PARTY, but to my knowledge O'Reilly never wore a uniform of our defense forces, and I've never heard him say a word of praise for those of us who honorably served.

As kermattcait says, people like McGuirk, who blames "grouchy misanthropic heathen atheists ... abortion and the gay rights agenda" for spoiling his Christmas, and O'R, who agrees with McGuirk "100%," "have a right to express" their beliefs. But I do not agree with kermattcait that they "are for Christianity." They do the same harm to Christianity that the Catholic bishops' anti-gay, anti-woman agenda does. O'R and McGurk "are for" demonizing gays and independent women, who have the same right to express our beliefs that they have, and my belief is that people with their beliefs are Christianity-subverting bigots who wouldn't recognize "God's word" if it dropped a Christmas turkey on their heads.

Evangelicals are not bigoted, they are for Christianity, and are standing up for God's word, they have a right to express what they believe.

What? O'Reilly didn't tell the pro-choicers and gays what they should do to "decrease the surplus population"? No Christmas would be complete without a little "Bah, Humbug," and Bill O'R is perfect for the role. He even looks like that other grouch, the one Dickens wrote about in 1843: "Christmas a humbug, uncle!" said Scrooge's nephew. "You don't mean that, I am sure." "I do," said Scrooge. "Merry Christmas! What right have you to be merry? What reason have you to be merry? You're poor enough." "Come, then," returned the nephew gaily. "What right have you to be dismal? What reason have you to be morose? You're rich enough." Scrooge having no better answer ready on the spur of the moment, said "Bah!" again; and followed it up with "Humbug." ('A Christmas Carol' is available free online.)

It strikes me that most of the posters have not watched the video attached to the article. O'Doherty's article gives a completely misleading impression of what Bill O'Reilly actually said, as opposed to what COD (good name that for such a journalist) would like BOR to have said. As for those of you who scoff at the idea that there is a "war on Christmas", well, you obviously don't like the idea of celebrating Christ's birth, - and you are entitled to your own beliefs and opinions - but you have to be joking when you claim not to recognise what is going on vis a vis Christmas. Oh, I should also mention, if most of the posters on here who call others "bigots" take a look in the mirror tomorrow morning, they might genuinely and seriously ask themselves some searching questions. But please don't do your normal stuff and twist the Q's and A's to suit, or the guy in the mirror might just come crashing through at you!
