| The Grinch who saved Christmas |
Memo to the gays, he's totally on to you.
The pugnacious pundit, already steamed over what he called the death of 'traditional America' during the presidential election, now believes he has uncovered the root of the so-called war on Christmas.
It's gay people. Gay people are the antithesis of Christmas. You read that right.
Speaking on the O'Reilly Factor on Thursday night O'Reilly agreed with Imus in the Morning producer Bernard McGuirk when McGuirk blamed abortion and gay rights for the so-called 'war on Christmas.'
MCGUIRK: 'The war on Christmas is very, very real, and if you ask me, in addition to some grouchy misanthropic heathen atheists it has to do - at the root of it - with two things - abortion and the gay rights agenda, because Christianity is against those things. It's subtle but that's why it's so pronounced in recent years.'
O'REILLY: 'Hundred percent agree. I absolutely agree 100% that the diminishment of Christianity is the target and Christmas is the vehicle because the secularists know the opposition to their agenda (legalized drugs is in that as well) comes primarily from the Judeo-Christian traditionalist people.'
O'Reilly is correct, of course. What could possibly be gay about gaudy decorations and shiny baubles and glitter? What's queer about a golden fairy on top of a tree? Answer, according to O'Reilly, the people's champion with the Harvard degree, not a thing. Christmas is robustly heterosexual. And it's under attack.
It was news to me that Christmas had a sexual orientation at all, but I'm not a Fox News philosopher like Bill.
When reached for comment on Friday a spokesperson for the Gay Agenda told me: 'O'Reilly is 100 percent correct. We are coming for the 'Judeo-Christian traditionalist people.' We - the gays - want to dismantle their mangers and recycle their Christmas Trees; we want to throw out their turkeys and bin their creamed onions; we want to eradicate Santa and liquidate Xmas decorations. We want a joyless, colorless, tinsel-less world. Expect us.'
Seriously, though, it may be time for Bill and his fellow travelers at Fox News to take an early Christmas break themselves, because they sound more and more like the Grinches they're supposedly railing against. Tis' not the season to gay bash on television, Bill.
It's beyond stupid, it's fundamentalist and insupportable and defamatory to suggest that gay people are the enemy of Christianity and America and shopping. O'Reilly is making a big Christmas ass of himself. Instead he should practice sowing a little comfort and joy, and if he finds that he can't, he should just stay home and bah humbug in the comfort of his own mansion.

As anyone asked Billo to explain why the person responsible for the religious organization called 'Christians' spent a good part of his adult life palling around with a bunch of men, and was closely attached to his mother? Maybe the recent discovery of some ancient writings suggesting he may have had a 'wife', has quelled these questions.

O'Reilly and his twin, Sean Hannity, represent the worst of Irish-American heritage. They've become rich being cheerleaders for hate-mongering racists, which given the American rightwing, is pretty much most of their loyal viewers.
This annual "War on Christmas" farce is just one more ritual of "Ooo, ooo, we poor, true 'Christians" are being victimized by godless atheism and government repression."
These two Fox hounds would have been sucking up to the British Crown back in the day. Today they do a version of that: sucking up to the Murdoch. Aussie by birth; corporate fascist by choice.

Jesus began his ministry by throwing the money changers out of the temple. He made no secret of his contempt for the rich. Now the bonuses of CEOs rest on how corporations do in the holiday to celebrate Jesus' name. There is a war on his message alright, and it's being waged by Tea Party Republicans who shout "Let him die."

I won't say Cahir O'Doherty misses the point about Christmas at all, because of course he knows what Christmas is all about. Cahir O'Doherty TWISTS the point, as do most people who cannot argue a good point. He well knows that Christmas is not about "shiny baubles and glitter and a fairy on top of a tree". Christmas, as you know, Mr. O'Doherty, is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. THAT is the reason it is hated by some people. THAT is the reason for the "war on Christmas".

Instructive how these moronic Fox News talking heads understand that its perfectly okay to blame the "War on Christmas" on "the Gays", but know better than to dare even insinuate that "The Jews" are behind the "War". Afterall, they'd be summarily fired if they tried to make that kind of charge.

What a load of left wing junk. Cahir is a well known lefty in the style of IC. Bill O'Reilly is the tops on viewerships in the US for over 10 years and is an equally successful best selling author. Lefties don't like him because he calls them out. Bill O is the best.

One of the best Christmases I ever had when my wife was still alive was at the home of her nephew who is gay, a brilliant feast, good entertainment and a sense of what Christmas should be about, peace on earth to those of good will.
I consider myself a conservative and I cannot stand Bill O'Reilly. For me he is the background noise between Shep Smith's evening newscast and Sean Hannity, with whom I often disagree but is thought provoking. Unlike O'Reilly with his faux crusades, Hannity gears his show to true political junkies and is followed by Greta Van Susteren, who also treats her audience with intellectual respect.
