Why I love Sarah Palin

And no, it's not her politics.
Sarah Palin is a love-to-hate figure, a woman of absolutes and contradictions. The glowing skin, the perfectly made-up face, the sexy spectacles combined with political power -- as a working mother of five, she's a modern woman who does it all. With only a few cracks on the surface to show for it.
I've just finished reading her autobiography, "Going Rogue," and it's a masterwork. The language is eloquent and flowing, so different from the faltering grammar of her unscripted speeches. Take this evocation of Alaska:
"With the first light covering of snow about to descend on Pioneer Peak, I breathed in an autumn bouquet that combined everything small-town America with rugged splashes of the Last Frontier."
She has little truck for vegetarians like myself -- "
if God had not intended for us to eat animals, how come He made them out of meat?" she contends, in italics -- yet she manages to make oil-drilling sound almost like a good idea, and her foes seem like fools. And Alaska! Alaska is an intoxicating landscape, an oasis of true America in a troubled world full of "Others."
You'd almost wonder if she wrote the book herself.
She tells us that she did: "It's very quiet in the little apartment I'm in for a couple of weeks as I work on this book, and the curtains are open to invite in the California sunshine."
I imagine Palin will attract even more viewers to Fox. She reached out to her audience in a recent tweet: "What would America do w/out Fox News? I'm so thankful for the opportunity to work w/team committed to fair&balanced reporting. Please join us!"
I'm not saying I'd like Palin if I met her, and if she were vice president I would have left America long ago. But were she to disappear entirely from our TV screens, had she just snuck back to Alaska and stayed there after the election, wouldn't we miss those sharp red suits, the up hairdo, the rouge, the smile?
Without Palin the world would be calmer and less complicated. But surely, too, it would be a less entertaining place?

Dear Frieda, why do you fear liking Sarah Palin? You fear I suppose personal freedom, individual responsibility, and a Government restricted by it's founding documents and Constitution. I understand the fear, as it is not cool to support individual freedom these days.

She needs to do some porn before she can be taken seriously

Why is being a woman of absolutes a bad thing? Beats wishy-washy and ready to fall to any whim. Drilling for oil is a good thing. No one ever has a legitimate reason for not liking her. I agree with her on lots of issues, disagree on a few. Why the out and out hatred? Ugly jealous feminists, maybe?

Sarah Plain will never run for President, for she enjoys just what she is doing now. Making money, alot of money, being a perky political entertainer, a distraction from the major problems at hand, able to condemn and criticize from the sidelines, having a team of nannies to raise the kids.Ghostwriters write about "Going Roque" and when you start to dip a little in the spotlight you make a statement about how Obama should "war with Iran" and bingo back on top again.

Only good thing she could do for America is release a sex tape.

I think all the liberals are scared to death of Sarah Palin. She stands for everything that they wish they could. A very jealous lot they are!

Who is a more honest person, Sarah Palin, Obama Barrack or Harry Reid? Let us reflect back the past year and examine key statements by these three people. How do their words or statements compare versus their actions? Finally if you keep believing the words of a liar, what does that say about your intelligence?

In response to "Booksbj on Jan 13, 2010, 01:37 PM EST": I believe Sarah Palin is not just an embarrassment to Alaskans. She's also an embarrassment to the human race.

Fox News has added to its collection of losers. To have a complete set, Fox News should also "collect" Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter.

Sarah Palin is a reflection and a mouthpiece of the conservatives, a.k.a. "losers of the century". Palin speaks, shouts, screams, whispers, mumbles, cries, and echoes the ideas of losers, the doctrines of the hypocrites, and the message of the crooks. Beside low-value entertaiment - if that, Sarah Palin has absolutely no value that is worth our time.

She didn't write the book, it was ghost-written. We here in America know she is a vacuous dolt. She is poorly spoken, a pathological liar, and 2/3's of all Americans know she is unqualified to be President. McCain would have never won as we were tired of the lies/wars/positions of the Republican Party. He supported Bush's policies. She is a quitter and Fox is the propoganda arm of the Republican Party.

I love all the sore losers in this country who say they will leave America if their candidate doesn't win. Palin wasn't running for President, she was running for VP. Look at Biden, how much do you see him in the news? The VP that lost gets more attention, than the elected VP, and where are you moving to? You just can't move to another country without having citzenship. Your ignorance highlights your intelligence. You could probably get into Mexico. That might be a good place for you.

Ms. Palin doen't know Ireland exists, much less where it is located. John McCain might have won the election if not for her.

I think Sarah Palin is an idiot and, as an Alaskan, I'm embarrassed she's from Alaska!
