Kristen Stewart gets super awkward at the Oscars

I watched the Academy Awards last night with my grandparents and their friends, and a large part of the conversation was nostalgic: the spotlight was on aged and aging stars, and the young 'talent' in line to replace them seemed, well, lacking.

I know Kristen Stewart's only nineteen, and I'm sure she's a lovely girl. But I was surprised to find a dearth of snarky blogs or mentions at all today in regards to her stage presence, which I found frankly appalling. When she took the stage with Twilight co-star Taylor Lautner to introduce a montage of horror films (it's unclear to me what, if anything, the Twilight franchise has to do with classics like Psycho and Frankenstein), I thought she looked less like a confident, spotlight-ready star than an awkward kid forced to give a class presentation.

Her posture was awful, her speech was uncomfortable and halting, she stopped at one point to cough, and worst of all, she seemed to be unfortunately a victim of RLS (restless leg syndrome.) She was fidgeting the whole time.

I may be only three years older than Kristen, but I was taught that when you're onstage, you stand up straight, speak slowly and clearly, and stand still. And that's for a middle school chorus recital, let alone the Academy Awards.

Well, I think Kristen Stewart is a lovely girl. She has a very unique look but I would have to agree with you. She doesn't seem to have much of a presence. I don't think 'star' when I see her. People forget that there are many stars her age who deal with this. I'm sure they get past their awkwardness and deal with it. Why can't she? I see no reason for her to get special treatment. Anyways she was offered help but she was like f-it, so I feel no sympathy. I expect great things from her.
She was so awkward! I thought she was going to cry! As the John Hughes tribute proved, child stars just aren't as suave anymore.
luvkristen and stacybee are truly right, get over yourself and shut up. why don't you go out there and try, to deal with hundreds of people taking pictures on you, number 1 she looks beautiful and exquisite and she is doing the best she can, I like to see you try doing that. I HATE when people have nother better to say than crap all the time about kristen and robert and it's starting to get on my nerves. why don't you try being her for a day.
I am a huge fan of Kristen and Robert and I support them all the way. That said, Kristen does need some help with her stage presence and speaking in public. She will be asked to do lots of presentations and she just needs help. She is classy, she is beautiful, she is a fabulous actress but she needs some help speaking before large groups. She can only get better.
Dont waste your time leaving a comment because if it says something that the author disagrees with she takes it off!! I have tried to leave a comment 5 times and it was erased every time!!!
I have met Kristen and I was blown away with how graceful and nice she is. She is so beautiful and classy. I think for you to say this just shows that you have no class. You are no one to judge someone like Kristen Stewart!!
I hardly think you can criticize her for how she (involuntarily) acted. This whole ragging on Kristen Stewart because she's "awkward" thing has long gotten tired. That girl was in a huge auditorium full of her peers, colleagues and possible future co-stars. You get up at next year's Oscars with that kind of pressure and we'll criticize every move your nerves make on your behalf.
I think she is much better when she is with Rob Pattinson and he is much better with her. They seem to support each other in a very endearing way that makes both of them more comfortable. Her dress was really pretty though. As a great fan of Edward/Bella, I hate to see Kristen do anything with Taylor Lautner (aka Jacob), even as friends. LOL
