Tenor Ronan Tynan snubs Yankees, dons Boston Red Sox jersey

Bookmark and Share

Well, that didn't take long.

The same week he moved to Boston, tenor Ronan Tynan showed up at a St. Patrick's Parade breakfast in Southie and quickly donned a Red Sox jersey.

Tynan was fired from the Yankees where he regularly sang "God Bless America" during the seventh inning stretch. after a Jewish doctor accused him of an anti-Semitic remark.

Tynan has now moved to Boston because he says the New York Jewish community will not forgive him.

And it looks like he will shortly be a major Red Sox fan.

Tynan told the 700 in the crowd, who gave him a warm reception: "I know you've known my record from the other side. But whether you wear pinstripes or red socks, you sing a song about a great country, and that is what it's really about."

Meanwhile, columnist Kevin Cullen at the Boston Globe urged the newspaper's readers to push for Tynan to sing "God Bless America" at Red Sox games just to stick it to the Yankees.

Looks like Tynan wants that to happen as well.

Tenor Ronan Tynan snubs Yankees, dons Boston Red Sox jersey - I say, "As well he should."
He never said the NEW YORK JEWISH COMMUNITY would not forgive him. He met with many prominent Jewish Leaders and they all forgave him. Please print honest and factual information. It's beneath you to do othwerwise.
WHO Cares what they say in New York ! Boston has this "gifted singer" and with the viewer audience in Boston and all over the country through Satellite TV...it is a great GAIN for Boston & The RED SOX! New York's loss and Boston's Gain... Thank you New York and Jewish Community...and stay in New York please!
The Sox never sung that song during the 7th inning. I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
God Bless Ronan . He can move any where he wants to. The man is not comitted to New York only. And I grew up their. Go where your appricated.
Hoping to hear his beautiful voice singing that beautiful song.
I repeat , the Zionists have way too much power in N.Y.C.
That is great. Hope to see you at the games.
Way to go, Ronan!!
I think the jewish community are insane. It seems like anyone can berate the Irish but dont say a word about jews in NY
Good for him.
I have been a true fan of Ronan's for a long time. He is a true professional and he is a very kind person who has overcome tremendous odds. Who in their right mind would think Ronan would demean anyone who was Jewish. I think people have become so sensitive and are just waiting for the next thing to complain about. He handled this situation like a man and, I for one, am very proud of him. It would be Boston's gift if Ronan did sing at our Red Sox games.
Send him back to NY.....don't take kindly to turncoats.
I think the Reds Socks are right....Love Ronan Tynan
He was let go by the Yankees and a free agent. Kinda like Johnny Damon, only in reverse. Good for Tynan.
