The group consisting of Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik was apparently planning on enjoying some gambling and drinking.

While in their home country they are legal to enjoy those activities they are prohibited from it in the United States.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "The boys were hoping to go wild in Vegas by boozing and gambling into the early hours.

"But security at every casino in town knew who the lads were and threw them out because the legal drinking and gambling age in the US is 21."

They were also disappointed their accommodation wasn't the location one of their favorite movies was filmed in, instead the motion picture was filmed in Los Angeles.

The insider added: "Finding out the hotel suite they had ordered wasn't the one in 'The Hangover' was also pretty annoying."

Their management stumped up £16,000 to give them a night at Nevada's Palms hotel in a two-floor suite with its own hot-tub, pool table and basketball court half-court.

They took a break to the holiday destination in between performances in California.

The group finish their American tour in Florida on July 1 before heading back to the UK where they will perform at Key 103 Live 2012 at Manchester's MEN Arena on Sunday, July 22.

They are joined on the lineup by Little Mix, Tulisa, Alexandra Burker, Professor Green, Labrinth and more.

'... Zayn Malik was apparently planning on enjoying some gambling and drinking.' Say it ain't so Mo! Since Malik has been telling everyone what a wonderful religion Islam is I presume he was going to opt out of the gambling and drinking part. Surely we don't have yet another Muslim hypocrite on our hands?
the lads know the score over here in the usa. everyone knows the drinking laws are different and gambling laws so they took a chance and got caught! Nice try but good to see that even the elite music starts of today get their butts kicked out!
Just another example of the lawless Irish "binge" drinking, cigarette smoking, gambling culture. They thought they were still in Ireland where 10 year old's buy and consume drink openly. No off licence or corner shop is gonna turn down perfectly good Euro because of the law, They know the drink and cigarette and gambling age is 18 in Ireland......BUT they also know well, NO ONE enforces it
According to human biology, the minds of people are not fully finished growing and developing until they are in their 20s. So, same as gambling and drinking is illegal until 21 in the USA, so really should be service is in the armed forces. Not until one is 21. As for this young Irish group being tossed out of the casinos in the USA, it's not the casinos' fault. It's the law of our land regarding minimum age required for gambling and/or drinking and and the casinos can get into huge legal problems by not obeying such a law. Same as I would need to be aware of Irish laws when I come to Eire/Ireland, these young lads needs to be aware of US laws when they come to the USA. When you are outside of your own country, your country's laws no longer apply to you when you are a guest in someone else's land. The laws of the country where you visit apply to you same as they do to the citizens of that country.
It's the law, if it's not to your likeing then get it changed, 18 year olds can vote but don't.
Am I the only one who feels that if you can defend your country you should be able to take a drink? We have quite a few young folk breaking the law and I for one think it's obscene.
