Mel Gibson’s father calls the Pope gay on radio

It seems that holding fast to strong opinions runs in the family.

Mel Gibson’s 91-year-old father, Hutton, spoke out on a U.S radio labeling Pope Benedict XVI as gay.

Hutton is a devout Catholic, like Mel. During an interview on the Political Cesspool Radio Program, on Liberty News network, he was asked if the Catholic Church was addressing the issue of homosexuality.

He responded by saying “It’s not willing to do so because half of the people there in the Vatican are queer.” When asked if he thought the Pope was gay he said “I certainly do... why else would he put up with this?... He's a slippery character.”

During the, needless to say, interesting interview Hutton also explained a little about the satanic influences inside the Catholic Church and also claimed that the Pope is part of the Freemasons.
This particular radio show has in the past been criticized for promoting ant-Semitic, nationalist and white supremacist views. Perhaps Mel could have advised him against the live interview.

In a 2003 Hutton Gibson questioned the Holocaust and claimed that the 9/11 attacks were carried out by remote control.

Mel Gibson has been involved in major controversy over the years for his wild outbursts and hateful views. In 2006 he famously had an anti-Semitic outburst while being arrested for drunk driving.

Then in 2004 his self-directed movie “The Passion of the Christ” was accused of being anti-Semitic due to its portrayal of Jewish characters.

Most recently, Mel is involved in a custody case with his ex-girlfriend Oskana Grigorieva. They are in court battling for their nine-month-old daughter, Lucia.

Grigorieva said that Mel was violent, had beaten her and she also released recordings of Mel drunk and verbally abusing her. In the six tapes Mel uses offensive racial and violent language.

It would seem that neither of the Gibson men have learnt to keep their views to themselves.

These guys are certainly not the best ambassadors for Roman Catholicism, and I doubt that they will have to ever be concerned about canonization.
Ok...people are so retarded. Do you not realize that the only reason you are trying to make other peoples life hell is because you don't have one. I mean you follow people around like lost puppies waiting for a embarrising photo moment, you shoot and you lie. IT IS DUMB. Who really cares if someone thinks the pope is gay who cares if anyone is gay. It is called equal rights and freedom of speech. WELCOME TO AMERICA DUMBASS
Mel Gibson is NOT a Catholic either, and he did not pay off the Catholic church to get a divorce. He established his own schismatic, right wing Catholic parish for his family (Latin Tridentine Mass only, with any nasty references to Jews retained). Perhaps he paid the priest there for an annulment but he made no such deal with Rome. Fair is fair, Rome has enough contradictions in its ample closet without being straddled with the loony Hutton and Gibson.
Please, Hutton is NOT a Catholic. He is a right wing extremists schismatic who hates Jews and Protestants. I do not like this pope or his church but fair is fair.
What's that old saying - The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Hey Blow-up doll, I mean girl, find another outlet for this American junk.
Please don't call him a devout Catholic. He established his own personal splinter church years ago.
JPII came on like "Dick Butkus". He rallied the Church. The thought behind the throne was Ratzinger. It is obvious that he is making major mistakes. Here in the U.S., there is no doubt of a satanic socialist influence among the U.S. bishops with the active symptoms being one of an active gay lifestyle for many of the influential bishops. As for Benedict, I would not go that far. However, he is "digging a hole for himself".
Too sad, too stupid to waste time thinking about. Both men are fools.
A fanatic is a fanatic. Those who refuse to accept reality, especially due to 'their' religion, are doomed to espouse intolerance and verbal idiotness.
Neither Mel nor his father are Roman Catholic. They have their own type of "cafeteria" religion, believing what they want. And, FatherVol is correct about annulments. Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the Gibson tree!!!
@LizFlabby: **Mel is such a devout catholic, he paid the church to annul his marriage to robyn, thereby making his children bastards. again shame on the church if you have enough money you can buy your way into heaven.** -- We would really appreciate A LINK, or a credible reference in video or print regarding your claim, if in fact you have proof that this 'payment' ever happened. If not... guess what you are called by anyone with a shred of integrity?
Anullments do not illegitimize children, Liz. They only say a sacramental marriage was non-existent. Legitimacy is bestowed by civil law not canon law. I cannot make comments about the tribunal that granted Gibson's anullment because I am not familiar with the details, but I can tell you that in my diocese there is no charge for an anullment and only those who have been granted an anullment are sent a letter asking for a free-will offerig to cover the costs incurred by the tribunal (no amount is ever stated) IF the people can afford it. No money is ever accepted beforehand to avoid giving the appearance that something was purchased.
Why is this news?
ok I too, still like Mel, and people how do they say it, even if its bad publicity it keeps you out in front..so people the more you fuss about him/family the more he will stay out there in the spot light..
