Matthew McConaughey's children ran down the aisle when they saw him at his wedding.
The 'Killer Joe' actor's children Levi, four, and Vida, two, played key roles when he married their mother Camila Alves at their Texas home earlier this month and though they were easily distracted, he says things "worked out" in the end.
He explained on 'TODAY': "Levi brought the rings on a necklace. Vida was the flower girl.
"I don't think she dropped one petal.
"It was only 25 yards. It took them two minutes to make it this far. They stopped, talked to some guests. Then I crouched down and they came running this way and it all worked out."
The 42-year-old actor is thrilled with how "healthy" all aspects of his life are at the moment.
He added: "My life is healthy. Personal life is good, career feels good and we'll just keep on cultivating."
Meanwhile, the actor admits he has "always" wanted to be a father, even when he had uncertainty about other aspects of his life.
He told the Metro newspaper: "One thing I always knew I wanted to be, since I was eight years old, was to be a father.
"When I was 20, I didn't know what I wanted for a career but I knew I wanted to be a father. The men I looked up to the most were fathers - men who raised good kids."

@Bythebay - Does he claim to be Holy Catholic? Does he set himself up as a great role model? Or is he just another human being trying to find his way through a life that sometimes doesn't seem to fit the established rules?

@EphraimKibbey, laughable then if he claims to be Holy Catholic isn't it? Or if he's positions to be such a great role model. But you probably don't know what the Catholic Church teaches either since you know nothing about the Irish or Ireland. Anyone can produce children. Not anyone obviously can take responsibility by marrying first before doing it. Another story worthy of the US Enquirer.

@Bythebay - The modern generation refuses to be stigmatized by the taboos of their parents and grandparents. They make their own choices as they see fit. Had he married early and beaten his wife and children or just left and never returned would that have been optimal? Maybe they knew what was optimal for them. I have two "kids" in their twenties and I pray that they make good decisions. After they were old enough to reason, I stopped making their decisions for them and encouraged them to look down the path that each choice led to. So far they are doing OK. Knock on wood! A great Celtic superstition.

Portia777, an American actor, why they have this story is probably another attempt at being a tabloid. Marriage before he had children would have been the optimal road, too bad he wouldn't follow it.
