Will Lucy Lawless be back on 'Spartacus Blood and Sand' for season two or will there be a second season following last night's first season gory finale?
As New York magazine revealed, Spartacus, I.E. Andy Whitfield, has a form of non Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer which threatens to end the hit series prematurely if he is unable to make it back.
The show is a hit attracting one million viewers a week with its irresistible mix of blood lust, lesbians and violence.
Lucy Lawless is the biggest name on the series but will Xena find herself in a prequel, where a younger actor could play a younger Spartacus if Whitfield is unable to continue?
It is really rotten luck as Spartacus is must watch TV after just a few episodes. It combines racy plot lines with brilliant period setting and wonderful fight scenes not to mention the sex.
Lets hope Andy Whitfield makes a great recovery and your columnist is able to dote on him again. As for Lucy, we need you girl for our weekly fix!

A Nielsen survey of male viewers of Spartacus aged 13-85, voted for Lucy to return next season.

Lucy needs a better, more worthy project to put her talents toward. Spartacus is depraved, violent, and repellent. And also very bad history, FWIW. says a lot more about how modern American TV viewers are than ancient Romans.
