A spy told the New York Post newspaper: "Charlie and Lindsay filmed a love scene. The scene they were shooting for the movie was of them in bed together.
The source added that they even "shared some playful pillow talk during shooting", commenting: "They were ad-libbing. They were joking that they've both had a lot of issues over the past couple of years."
The horror spoof script allegedly sees Lindsay share a kiss with Charlie as well as wearing a kinky S&M collar.
The flame-haired star - who has suffered from drug and drink addiction in the past - was said to have "freaked out" and thought her new role would affect her image, leading her to blow off all her meetings and miss her flight to Atlanta before going to hospital claiming to be suffering from "walking pneumonia".
However, it seems the 'Mean Girls' star has put her worries behind her and appeared at ease on set with her infamous former 'Two and a Half Men' co-star.
Another source said: "Lindsay was a great sport. She was poking fun at herself, and she really got into it and seemed to enjoy it."
"Lindsay was scared by a sound effect (during filming), and actually jumped into Charlie's arms. But everything went smoothly and surprisingly on schedule."
