Liam Neeson paid a touching tribute to his late wife
Natasha Richardson this week when he presented a theatre award in her name, wearing a T-shirt featuring a photograph of the actress.
The 58-year-old actor wore the black and white T-shirt when he presented Nancy Carroll with the Natasha Richardson award at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards in
London. The best actress category was renamed following Richardson’s death in March 2009.
Presenting the award, the
Belfast man said: “They gave me a speech to read out in tribute to my beloved wife but I refuse to say it.
“I present the Natasha Richardson Award - in memory of my dear wife - to Nancy Carroll.”
One of
Ireland’s top actors, Liam Neeson has maintained silence regarding his wife’s death following a freak skiing accident in
Canada over a year ago.
