The move to TBS is a very bad one for Conan O'Brien.
The flame haired flamboyant Irish one has just kissed his network career goodbye for all time.
TBS is the equivalent of Peoria, a second level venue at best where once great performers go to die.
Think of it as the borscht belt of late night shows, the one you would not be seen dead watching yourself.
He is replacing someone called George Lopez, after previously replacing Jay Leno.
That's the equivalent of replacing the Toledo Mud Hens short stop instead of Derek Jeter
Conan was the clown prince on NBC but never had the time to develop the proper audience. But he was getting there
Notice since he left that the Leno crowd now check in a full ten year's older average age 56.
They watch Leno just before they take their false teeth out for the night.
The ratings in another ten years will be great for funeral home advertisers.
Conan should have done the deal for a Fox Network show -- whatever it took.
In a release accompanying the announcement O’Brien said: “In three months I’ve gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I’m headed to basic cable. My plan is working perfectly.”
There may be more truth in that than Conan might wish.

I think Conan is terrible no matter what network he's on. His so=called "humor" is pathetic!! Jay was unfairly made to look like the bad guy in all this.

Comment #2-I'm 59- I don't watch Jay Leno and you have a lot to learn about life. Sure making a comment on your blog may help you & your numbers game but it sure doesn't help you personally in the "Brain Department".

Good Luck to Conan. Doesn't matter where he works, his followers will watch him at any time on any station. By the way, I haven't watched Jay Leno or the Tonight Show since Conan was shown the door.

My dear Young Amy, I am 56 soon to be 57 and I still have all my own teeth with the exception of one which I lost when I was in my teens. Perhaps you should try to be more understanding of us old geezers.

I don't know. I'm glad he didn't choose Fox. They're too narrow-minded. He's pretty out there with his humor, sometimes, but he can be hilarious!

Ageist? Pathetic.

Yea, could we lose the ageist crap? I suspect that the age range of readers of IrishCentral doesn't exactly skew towards the teens. Nothing like insulting your readers. Surely even the average age of the editorial staff on this site hits at about 50ish? Do you have to dodge the dentures on your visits to the Irish Central office, Amy?

he might as well just do a web cam from his mothers basement

Amy Andrews is seriously ageist. One can only hope that when she hits 50 herself, she still has her teeth.
