What is it with Colin Farrell and older women?
The Daily Mail hints today that Colin may have been romantically involved with Liz Taylor during the last year and a half of her life
It was a secret known only to the two of them but was not the first time that Colin has courted an older woman.
Colin told Access Hollywood: ‘I was just lucky enough to become her friend in the last year and a half. I adore her…still.’
Asked how they meet he said
'You know, the old story of boy meets girl, and boy pesters girl with too many phone calls at inappropriate hours of the night.’
They became so close that Colin became the only A list star to speak at her funeral --and Elizabeth picked out the poem for him, called The Leaden Echo and The Golden Echo by Gerard Manley Hopkins.
Farrell said ‘Elizabeth chose it. It was
a tricky poem as well. Even in passing she had me under the thumb, sweating bricks.’
Back in 2005 Dame Eileen Atkins, then 70 revealed that Colin had attempted to seduce her.
The actress now 76 remembered 'I was doing a movie and three weeks before my 70th birthday, a simply stunningly gorgeous big film star aged 28 years old, came into my hotel room for sex without strings.
The Gosford Park star said 'It was pure bliss and it made me sail through my 70th birthday without a care in the world.'
It was later confirmed that it was Colin Farrell who tried on the seduction bit.
