Bono reveals Obama snubbed him during a dinner-- says president was right to kill bin Laden in Pakistan

Bono has revealed how Barack Obama snubbed him at a private dinner in order to talk to Bush senior official Condolezza Rice.

Bono made the remarks in an interview with Hot Press magazine in Dublin in a special Obama visit to Ireland issue.

“I remember the first half of the dinner the two of them kind of talking politely through me, and then the second half of the dinner, it was like I wasn’t there (laughs). They were just kind of sharing and swapping ideas.”

Bono says Obama has an edge on all other politicians because of his mastery of the new digital age information flow.

“He’s the BlackBerry President and he gets technology,” Bono says. “I hope that they’re going to spend some time introducing him to the representatives of the wealth of technological geniuses – genii – that we have here...(when he visits Ireland)

He's on Facebook. He's on Google. I worked personally quite hard to get Google to choose Ireland as their headquarters outside of America and I’m very proud of it being here – and Facebook now.”

Bono also called for a referendum on the Irish bank bailout.

“That is an affront; that is an injustice to the Irish people,” he says of the fact that the Irish taxpayer had to absorb failed banks and their debt . “It would be a very sophisticated thing indeed should the Irish people demand a chance to debate and argue, and finally decide themselves, on what will in the end be a decision that will affect their children and grandchildren.”he also supports Obama's decision to have Bin Laden killed and not captured.

“The lives of the women and children were, under Obama’s leadership, a critical part of the calculation,” Bono proffers. “I don’t believe it was an execution, as some have suggested. The safety of the Navy SEALs was and should be pre-eminent. Part of me would have liked to have seen a trial..."

He still believes that the troubles production of "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" musical, he and the Edge wrote the music for can be a success after its' revamping.

“It’s fraught with danger and then we had one very serious accident that was a real freak, the rest were just kind of the sort of accidents that happen on Broadway. But the combination made it look like we were being very lackadaisical about safety, when in fact the guy from Cirque du Soleil, who was the world’s expert, was working with us and we had really gone to every length for safety."

@colkelley Please post a link with President Obama proclaiming to be the "Messiah". I'd love the link because up till now the only sources I've see of this is on blogs posted by trolls who are so blinded by their irrational hatred of our president that they feel compelled to make stuff up.

@John, what you have is called 'Obama Derangement Syndrome' or ODS. Symptoms are: "The acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the statements -- nay -- the very existence of Barack Obama." There are enough of you that I'm sure some sort of search for a cure is on - don't worry, there's hope. You might want to try going cold turkey with FOX.

I don't think Bono is complaining, in fact, I think he appreciates, as I do, a US President who would get caught up talking to an ex-Sec'ty of State to the neglect of a musician - even a great one!

Obama snub people, Really? Na, he doesn't do that for he is the "most intelligent President ever". His wife has a "staff" of 27, and his "staff" surely knows how to properly set appointments for this narcissistic immature "world leader". But look at it this way Bono ... you have company ... for the last time Israel's leader came to Washington to talk middle-east peace ... Obama snubbed him to !! Obama doesn't care about anyone except the man in HIS mirror who gets touch-up sprays of gray, to appear more "mature".

Didn't the Irish people relinquish their right to decide when they voted out the Irish constitution in favor of the EU constitution? Perhaps a re-vote should be held and make the decision 2 out of 3. I'm sure the third vote would favor the return to the Irish constitution. I can dream, can't I?
