Maybe the silliness of the look is their way to protest the way their mother was treated. Fergie should have been invited to the wedding, but she was snubbed.

Oh my, those hats, that eyeliner, just oh my. :) My family was talking about this and my mother compared this to Cinderella and the ugly step sisters. Kate was Cinderella and they were the ugly step sisters. I think that's pretty accurate. Though I personally think that they probably would have looked great if they ditched the outfit, hat, and makeup and got a "new look"
