Former Sunderland boss Roy Keane wants to return to management this summer and is not ruling out working abroad.

Keane left the Stadium of Light in December and the Irishman has used his time away to swat up on training methods employed by some of the best teams sport has to offer.

The former Manchester United captain flew out to Portugal last week to study the style employed by Benfica coach Quique Sanchez Flores having previously switched sports to analyse the training methods utilised by The All Blacks.

“My future? I’m hopeful because I want to get back into management in the summer,” Keane said.

“I don’t know where that will be, but I’m keeping all my options open and wouldn’t dismiss the possibility of working abroad.”
