Conference Partners has officially launched the Irish World Cup 2013 event, an amateur soccer tournament open to both male and female adult soccer teams of all skill levels from all over the world. The event will take place from the 7th to 9th June 2013 in University College Dublin, and promises to be the largest seven-a-side tournament since the London 2012 Paralympic Games. With player packages starting from €40 per person, everyone from soccer enthusiasts to those seeking a holiday with a difference, are encouraged to gather and register a team and come to Ireland to play a minimum of six matches for the chance to win a prize pot of €5,000 and a VIP day out at a World Cup Qualifier game; Republic of Ireland vs. Sweden on September 6th.
The event will include a festival element with a custom built World Cup Village, which will be the central hub of entertainment for participants and spectators to gather and eat, watch the games and soak up the atmosphere. There is also an exciting program lined up, including Premium match tickets in the AVIVA Stadium for all participants to watch the ROI V Faroe Islands World Cup qualifier on the 7th June 2013, as well as live broadcasts, a U2 tribute concert and a spectacular closing ceremony, with a chance for all participants to experience the Irish legendary craic and charm.
Irish and Liverpool legend, John Aldridge has joined the Irish World Cup Squad as an ambassador for the event. Aldridge, with his tally of 330 league goals, is still the sixth highest goal scorer in League soccer. He has also earned 69 caps for the Republic of Ireland, scoring 19 goals during his international career. John has expressed his delight in supporting the tournament, stating “The Irish World Cup is a great new initiative for soccer fans around the World and I look forward to it becoming a permanent fixture in the Irish sporting calendar.”
