Roy Keane has been lined up for a sensational return to management – in Turkey with little known side Kasimpasa.

Reports in Istanbul say that the Irishman will be confirmed as boss within the next 48 hours.

Sources close to Keane say he has been contacted by the Turks but don’t believe a move is imminent.

They have confirmed however that Keane is in talks with the side promoted to Turkey’s Premier Division last season.

The Irish Sun reports that former Sunderland and Ipswich boss Keane is lined up to replace Metin Diyadin at Kasimpasa after wealthy investors took control of the Istanbul club.

Former Galatasaray and Liverpool boss Graeme Souness told the paper that the move could be a good one for Keane.

Souness said: “I don’t know a lot about Kasimpasa but I know Roy loves a challenge.

“He’ll be up against the big guns in Galatasary, Fenerbache and Besiktas but the move shows his desire to get back into management.

“Istanbul is a magnificent place to live and work. The people were so friendly to me and my wife and daughter during my year there and I believe the city has got so much better since. I had a fantastic time.

“We know Roy’s time at Ipswich didn’t end all that well and he’ll be wanting to get stuck back in, I don’t see it as being a strange move. He wants to manage and this opportunity has arisen.

“It’ll be a tremendous experience for him. The people there are mad for their football and they’ll welcome someone like Roy with open arms.”
