Former world number one Rory McIlroy demonstrated a disappointing game at the Irish Open this past weekend, finishing in 96th with an aggregate score of 146 after failing to make the cut on Friday.

In the wake of this most recent loss in a generally disappointing year for McIlroy, he related that he felt "a little bit lost," trying to regain the form that allowed him to set the 16-under-par record in his 8-stroke victory at the 2011 U.S. Open.

McIlroy's pro-tennis playing star girlfriend, Caroline Wozniacki, suffered a similarly disappointing loss as she fell out in her second round at Wimbledon. After an injury sustained in her first set against Petra Cetkovska, Wozniacki had her ankle treated and wrapped in tape to continue playing.

However, the treatment seemed to do little to help Wozniacki's game, and she burned out in a 6-2 6-2 loss to 196th ranked Cetkovska.

In the aftermath of these double losses, the couple took to Twitter and expressed their mutual desire to head “home,” to Wozniacki's apartment in Monaco. McIlroy tweeted on Saturday:

"Can't wait to get home to Monaco tomorrow with @CaroWozniacki! #sunseaandpractice"

Though McIlroy's permanent home is in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, the tweet indicates that he feels more at home in Wozniacki's place in Monaco.

Apparently, the feeling is reciprocated by Wozniacki, as she tweeted a response in kind: "@McIlroyRory don't forget to pick me up on the way;) lol.. Home sweet home!"

Coming off the back of this most recent missed cut, McIlroy has only a couple of weeks to find his form before the Open Championship at Muirfield.
