Goal hero Robbie Keane kisses those nearest and dearest to him every time he scores a goal for Ireland.

The Irish captain rewrote the record books when he scored his 51st international goal in Macedonia last week.

Keane has now scored more goals than any other player from the British or Irish Isles after surpassing Bobby Charlton’s previous 49 goal record.

For years, Keane celebrated his goals with a trademark back-flip then unveiled a bow and arrow salute for the 2002 World Cup finals in Japan.

Now he kisses both sides of his wrist – as he did in Macedonia last week – and model wife Claudine has revealed why.

“Robbie kisses his wrists because he has his son’s name Robert and his date of birth tattooed on one side and mine on the other,” revealed Claudia to the Irish News of the World.

“I can’t help crying when he does it and it is a really tender moment as it was when he scored those two goals in Macedonia and got the record.”

Robert, Jr is even mimicking his 30-year-old father every time he sees his dad celebrate a goal on the television.

“Now little Robert keeps tumbling on the ground and kissing his wrists like Robbie,” added Claudine.

“It is so funny to watch and he gets more like his father every day.”
