The New York Gaelic Athletic Association will operate in 2013 with the same panel of officers who guided the body through 2012.

The governing body for Ireland's national sports, Gaelic Football and Hurling, will again be chaired by Liam Bermingham. Continuing as Vice Chairperson is Laurence McGrath. Mary Murphy returns as Secretary; Seamus McNabb as Assistant Secretary; John Phelan as Treasurer; Liam Moffat as Assistant Treasurer; John Fitzpatrick as Development Officer; Denis Twomey as Youth Officer; and Alan Hearty as Coaching Officer. In the only change from last year, Ira Goldman returns to the Public Relations Officer post he held in 2009. McGrath and former Chair Larry McCarthy are the additional delegates to the GAA Congress in Ireland.

Officially the Gaelic Athletic Association of Greater New York, the organization functions as a "County Board" under the banner of the GAA in Ireland and will open the All-Ireland Gaelic Football season May 5 with a New York All-Star squad taking on a visiting Leitrim team in the Connacht Championship.

The NY GAA's Senior, Intermediate, and Junior football and Senior and Junior Hurling panels are making ready to begin training for the 2013 games, played at Gaelic Park in the Bronx.

The venue also hosts the NY GAA Minor Board, who govern the training and competition of young players from under 8 through 18 years, and the New York Ladies Gaelic Athletic Association.
