Munster edged closer to the Magners League title with a 25-10 victory over Connacht at Thomond Park in Limerick on Saturday evening.

A decent first half performance from the home team laid the foundation for the win, as Barry Murphy and Doug Howlett nabbed tries to help establish a 20-3 interval lead.

Connacht started the second half with a bang, scoring a try through Fionn Carr almost from the restart, but the converted effort was to be their last scoring contribution for the evening.

The game lagged somewhat during the second period, and a try from Federico Pucciariello near the end made it 25-10.  Warwick missed the conversion and that was the last of the scoring.

Though Munster did not pick up a bonus point, the march to the double of the Magners League and Heineken Cup is still very much on.
