James Horan is to stay on as Mayo boss for another two years as the county footballers look for a quick response to their All-Ireland football final defeat to Donegal.

Horan has agreed a two year extension that will keep him in the job until 2015. The deal was ratified at a county board meeting on Monday night.

The county board said in a statement, “The Mayo Senior Team under the management of James Horan have made tremendous progress in the last two years.

“Mayo County Board are delighted to have a manager of the caliber that is James Horan and remain extremely confident that this team will realize their ultimate goal in the very near future.”
