As Rory McIlroy storms into the lead at the US Master 2011 with a sparkling round of 65 Padraig Harrington played a nightmare round of 77. US Open Champion Graeme McDowell was two over through 14 just two adrift from his playing partner Tiger Woods.

Woods, who tied fourth at the US Masters 2010 set out in the company of McDowell and Robert Allenby of Austrailia.

It's thought that McDowell could be one of first players to finish up this week as one of the world's top players. The list includes Wood, Kaymer, Westwood, Luke Donald and McDowell.

For Harrington this went terribly wrong today however consecutive birdies at 15 and 16 brought him back to three over. He steadied his round before a double bogey saw him finish on five over.

One ray of solace for Harrington is that Martin Kaymer, the world number one, went one worse today with 78. Both players need big rounds tomorrow to avoid missing the cut.
