London defeat Sligo in Connacht championship - easy win for Donegal

London recorded an historic one point win over Sligo in the All-Ireland championship.

In one of the biggest shocks in recent GAA history, London defeated Sligo in the All-Ireland championship to set up a Connacht semi final clash with Leitrim.

London, playing at home, held on for an historic one point win over Sligo who at one point fell eight points behind. The London victory is another example of the strength of immigrant communities in the GAA because of renewed emigration.

Meanwhile, in the big clash of the day, Donegal easily disposed of Tyrone at Balllybofey in a game that never lived up to expectations. Two Donegal goals, one in each half, helped seal the deal.

Elsewhere Kerry ran riot over Tipperary in a very one sided match, Louth had an impressive win over Laois, Wicklow defeated Longford and Cork easily got past Limerick.
