Liverpool stunned Manchester United Sunday with a 2-0 defeat at Anfield ending a string of defeats for the Reds.

The game got off to a heated start as angry Liverpool fans staged a protest march against the club owners and during the game itself several beach balls were flung on to the pitch by visiting fans.

The home team shrugged off their recent collapse in form and gave a scintillating show to the Anfield faithful.

The goals for Liverpool all came in the second half from Fernando Torres and David Ngog with Ngog's goal hitting the back of the net in the final minute of injury time.
