Spurs chief Harry Redknapp is reportedly looking to swap Robbie Keane for David Bentley and Jermaine Jenas for Aston Villa winger Ashley Young.

Redknapp is said to be a keen admirer of Young and failed in a bid to sign the Villa winger last summer.

Young’s pay at Villa was upped to £65,000 a week , which helped keep him at the side, despite mounting pressure from Redknapp for a transfer to the London club, who finished fourth in last season’s Premiership.

Young, now 25, came to Villa from Watford in 2007 for £9.65m.

Spurs are unable to fork out the £30m which the player and club are demanding, but Redknapp knows that the triumvirate of Keane, Bentley and Jenas would surely impress the Villa boss.

Rumours have long been circulating that Robbie Keane has a future at Aston Villa despite the fact that the player impressed his boss in the pre-season warmup.

Redknapp is also said to be keen on Villa defender Curtis Davies and Micah Richards at Manchester City.
