McKillop hails from Newtownabbey, county Antrim and its a hot tip for a medal in London. Without a doubt McKillop is one of Ireland's most successful Paralympic athletes with titles at T37 800-meter to prove it. McKillop is the double world champion and record holder over 800-meter and 1500-meter and also competes in able-bodied athletic competitions.

He has represented Ireland at u19 level in the field of cross country and claimed the Irish under-23 1500-meter title in June 2012. This was his first able bodied title and will hopefully stand to him as great preparation for London and the beginning of the games on Aug 29th.

Indeed making history seems to come easily for the young Antrim man, as in May of 2012 he also managed to capture the record of being the first male athlete to set a world record in the Olympic stadium in London. He ran an impressive 3:59:54 minutes in the 1500m at the Visa Disability Athletics Challenge breaking his previous personal best time of 4:18:81. Michael is coached by his father Paddy and will be a strong contender in this year's games.

Check him out on:
