Ireland's Graeme McDowell has slipped out of the top ten. The US Open champion was suffered a setback whilst putting that saw him lose out to Martin Kaymer in the Race to Dubai.

McDowell fell to eleventh in the world standings. Although he needed a top-three finish for an opportunity to top the money list, Europe's Ryder Cup hero could only tie for thirteenth along with Martin Kaymer, leaving the German to win the money title and finish the year as Europe's premier golfer.

"I’ve had a dream season and it just so happened Martin had an unbelievable season as well," McDowell told the press.

"I know I can put all of the great experiences I’ve had to good use in the next five to 10 years. I’m 31 years old and feeling very good physically," he said.

"A few years ago, Tiger looked invincible and we were all playing for second. Nowadays it’s different. When I look at one of my good friends, Lee Westwood, as the world’s number one player. Do I believe I can be the world’s number one? Of course I do.”
