The UK National Anthem will not be sang in the May 4th decider between Cliftonville and Glentoran at Windsor Park.

The IFA Challenge Cup Committee is trying to avoid any troubles by creating a “politically neutral environment,” reports the BBC.

This is not the first time the anthem has been pulled in Cliftonville’s games against the Belfast Crusaders.

Meanwhile the naming rights for the Irish Cup Final has been given to a cancer charity.  The game will now be called the ‘Marie Curie Irish Cup Final’.

Cliftonville chairman and chairman of the IFA's Challenge Cup Committee Gerard Lawlor said,

"There is a huge amount of media coverage around the game, including live television and radio broadcasts, so it will provide a tremendous platform for Marie Curie to raise awareness and spread the word of the great work they do,” and went on to add, "I am glad that we can play a part in that."
