Germany may have a 100 percent record in Group C so far, but German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger claims that Ireland will provide their biggest test yet on Friday at the Aviva Stadium.

Speaking to the Jargan Post, the Bayern Munich man, Bastian Schweinsteiger, claims that Ireland’s home ground has an ambiance like no other but states that this can be a double edged sword for the Germans as it makes it a hard place to get a victory.

He says, “The atmosphere is different. It has this special something. We had the joy of playing there five years ago and it is difficult to get the win there.”

According to the Irish Times, the 28-year-old is not taking the Irish team and their coach for granted, and claims that the Germans will have to improve over their last few games in order to get the win. He says,’ It would be a huge advantage to get the three points but they are a tough team with a clever fox of a coach. We need to improve. We need to play better both when we have possession and when we do not have the ball’.

Despite this, the Germans are heavily fancied to get the win in the Aviva due to Ireland struggling with injuries and form as of late. The Irish needed two late goals to get the win over minnows Kazakhstan and are without five players coming into this tie as Richard Dunne, Sean St Ledger, Kevin Doyle, James McClean and Glenn Whelan have all had to pull out.

Germany have injury concerns of their own however as Mats Hummels, Lars Bender and Ilkay Guendogen have all had to withdraw and they are also without captain Phillipp Lahm, who is suspended.
