Tedy Bruschi spent a lot of time in the NFL tackling mountainous running backs and guards but he has never quite tackled something like this.

The three time Super Bowl winning linebacker formerly of the New England Patriots will be attempting to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro with former Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher as well as former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Chad Lewis.

The trio will be joined by four service members on their journey.

The goal is to summit the more than 19,000 feet of Kilimanjaro from May 13-19 after a day of acclimatization in Tanzania.

The climb is an NFL organized event that Bruschi "couldn't pass up" after missing the organization's USO tour to Afghanistan. The climb is being undertaken to raise awareness of the Wounded Warrior Project.
