The FDNY Bravest Boxing team will take on the, Irish National Police Force’s, Garda Boxing Club with 12 three-round matches, in the first of their two meetings for 2014.

The first show down is set to take place on Mar 6, at Webster Hall, in Manhattan. The FDNY team will then head to Dublin this October for another night of fights. Members of the two departments have previously fought at the World Police and Fire Games.

Funds raised from the event will benefit Building Homes for Heroes, a group which helps severely wounded veterans and their families rebuild their lives.

Each year, the FDNY boxing team competes in several amateur boxing matches against other Fire Department and Police Departments from around the world. In the past several years, the FDNY Bravest Boxing team has donated over $50,000 to military related charities.

The Bravest Boxing team consists of FDNY members who train for their grueling matches on their own time and live by the motto that they’ll fight “anyone, anywhere, anytime, as long as it’s for a good cause!”
