England to prove Grand Slam potential in Dublin

England will go to Dublin on Sunday keen to prove their own Grand Slam potential after a 38-18 Twickenham win over Scotland.

But coach Stuart Lancaster refused to get carried away with the Scottish win afterwards when he said, “We need to knuckle down to what will be a massive game against Ireland.

“We felt prepared going into the game and while we are not satisfied with everything I thought our cohesion was excellent and it has given us a foundation to go into Dublin.

“Clearly we will have to step up for Dublin. Ireland are an outstanding side. They have quality players across the board so it is a big step up.

“We need to make sure we are ready mentally physically and mentally and technically.”

England will have influential center Manu Tuilagi fit and available for the big game in Dublin, but number eight Ben Morgan is unlikely to play as he recovers from an ankle injury.

Ireland coach Declan Kidney won’t announce his team to play until England until Friday lunchtime to give his players every chance to recover from Saturday’s bruising encounter in Wales.

Captain Jamie Heaslip (cut leg), center Gordon D’Arcy (dead leg), Brian O’Driscoll (head wound), prop Mike Ross (cramp), Rob Kearney (back) and Keith Earls (shoulder) all picked up knocks in the Cardiff win.
