Eircom, proud sponsors of the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship, is creating the largest ever FanPic in Ireland at this weekend’s All Ireland Senior Football Final.

Over 210,000 people logged on to eircom’s FanPic page to spot themselves, friends and family at the GAA semi-finals with over 18,000 fans tagging themselves and sharing their picture online. The fun continues as lucky fans with a ticket to the All-Ireland Final can tag themselves at Croke Park this weekend and be in with a chance to win a pair of VIP tickets to the October 26th Irish Daily Mail International Rules game in Croke Park, along with overnight accommodation.

FanPic is a simple platform that allows fans to search and spot themselves in a 360 degree photograph taken of the crowds at each game and then tag or share their photo via their Facebook account. FanPic has had a huge uptake from fans attending other major sporting events in stadiums across the world.

GAA Football fans unable to attend the game will also have an opportunity to win VIP tickets to the Croke Park test by playing “Find our GAA Stars” game. The game challenges fans to spot one of eircom’s GAA Ambassadors; Colm “The Gooch” Cooper, Ciaran Whelan, Michael Murphy, Donie Shine, Mickey Harte or Johnny Doyle in the crowd, and answer a simple question.

Kevin White, Managing Director of eircom consumer, said, “To mark the end of another thrilling season, we are really excited to launch the eircom GAA Football FanPic initiative. The response at the Semi Finals was phenomenal and we believe the service adds another element to the All-Ireland Football Final for GAA fans. FanPic is just one of the many fan-centered initiatives on our www.experiencemore.ie website. It’s a great memento that will also have the added bonus of letting all your friends and family know that you were one of the lucky few with a ticket to the hottest game in town!”

Commenting at the launch of the eircom GAA Football FanPic initiative, Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Liam Ó Néill, said, “On behalf of the GAA and the team at Croke Park, we are delighted that eircom, a proud sponsor of the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship, is bringing FanPic to Croke Park.

"The interactive service is something that has been used in international stadiums across the world for other major sporting events, so we are very much looking forward to working with eircom to create the largest ever FanPic in Ireland.”
