After a surprisingly early exit at Wimbledon, tennis pro Caroline Wozniacki has switched up her plans and is now flying to Ireland to cheer on golfer beau Rory McIlroy at the Irish Open.

The Irish Independent reports that Wozniacki’s first-round departure is a shocker indeed as the tennis ace, who was ranked 7th in the world, had never been beat in the first round of Wimbledon before.

McIlroy had planned on heading to London to cheer on his girlfriend after the Irish Open, but her early exit has changed their plans. Wozniacki is now reportedly headed to Portrush to cheer on McIlroy.

While playing in the Pro-Am on Wednesday, McIlroy was seen checking his iPhone several times, presumably trying to get updates on girlfriend Wozniacki’s Wimbledon happenings.

The Irish Open promises to be an exciting event in the coming days as crowds of around 23,000 people have already been flocking to watch the initial rounds.

Portrush hero and pro-golfing champion Graeme McDowell said that winning the Irish Open would be "one of the most special moments of my career, right up there with winning in Pebble and the putt at Celtic Manor.”

"It would mean a lot in terms of pride and emotion to win in front of my family and friends. There'll be a pretty kick-ass party somewhere in town on Sunday night if it happens. Yet," he added, "Portrush will be buzzing on Sunday if any Irishman has a chance to win."
