Brian Kelly has revealed details on the retro uniform the Notre Dame Fighting Irish team will wear at ‘The Big House’ in the night game against Michigan.

Notre Dame’s uniform has remained pretty much the same for the last few decades expect for the occasional green jersey game. For this special event the team will wear white jerseys with green should stripes.

Their helmets will not only be gold they’ll carry a shamrock logo for the first time since the 1960s. Also the years that the Fight Irish won national titles will be stitched along the bottom of the jerseys.

The night game, on September 10, will be the first between the Fighting Irish and the Wolverines since 1990.

Speaking about the new uniforms Brian Kelly said “We are happy to partner with adidas to help commemorate the first night game at Michigan Stadium with new uniforms...It seems fitting that the two schools with the two best winning percentages in college football play in this historic game. I know our players are looking forward to the contest and both teams’ new uniforms will only add to the excitement in the Big House on September 10,” he told Bleacher Report.
